A Mormon vs. The Mormons

http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_13546968

I'm not a huge fan of Harry Reid, though I respect some of his political stances, this being one of them. I hope his criticism of the LDS stance on CA Prop. 8 was not taken in offense, but well-received.

Hey Wade it's me again. Maybe you are like me and occasionally wonder "maybe I should just be quiet" since stating your opinion tends to get others riled up. But you and I are not the type to stay quiet. I believe the Lord expects us to speak up.
That being said, I do not agree with Mr. Reid. If we are going to redefine marriage we must first look at where it came from. If you believe the Bible is the Word of God and look at history then the author and institutor of marriage was God. Giving your time and means to ensure that man does not pervert this divine institution of marriage is hardly a waist of time or money in my opinion. Given that families are the fabric of any successful society.
In my opinion if you can not witness and support God's plan or speak on His behalf in this life how can you expect Him to speak on your behalf in the next. If we can't give our time and means to support His plan for the family whatever else we do with our time and money will be of little consequence.

Jill, rather than get into a debate with you, I'll just point you to my most current, official thoughts and feelings about this topic.
Enjoy.
Also, thanks for the post.
